Directorate of Rankings and Institutional Excellence

General Tasks of the Directorate

  1. Leading and managing the university’s rankings and institutional excellence system by establishing the overall strategic framework and directing institutional efforts toward achieving excellence and global competitiveness.
  2. Supervising coordination and integration among the directorate’s departments:
    • Rankings Department.
    • Institutional Excellence Department.
    In a manner that ensures role integration and the achievement of shared strategic objectives.
  3. Managing the file of global and regional rankings strategically, such as (QS, THE), and others, through:
    • Determining participation priorities.
    • Improving performance in main KPIs.
    • Ensuring the sustainability of progress in rankings.
  4. Promoting and applying global institutional excellence models, such as the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), and aligning them with the university environment to achieve sustainable institutional excellence.
  1. Analyzing ranking results and international indicators in an advanced manner, conducting Gap Analysis, and developing data-driven strategic improvement plans.
  2. Leading efforts to improve the university’s academic and research reputation, in coordination with colleges and relevant units, and enhancing international and institutional presence.
  3. Preparing and implementing the directorate’s operational plan in alignment with the university’s strategic plan, and linking it to measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  4. Developing and adopting integrated governance for managing rankings data, including:
    Data collection mechanisms.
    • Auditing and verifying data quality.
    • Unifying data sources.
    • Ensuring readiness for submission within specified timelines.
  5. Monitoring and analyzing institutional performance indicators (KPIs) at the university level and linking them to ranking outcomes and excellence models.
  6. Managing institutional awards and excellence files locally and internationally, and maximizing the university’s opportunities for nomination and winning.
  7. Preparing periodic analytical reports and dashboards to present the university’s performance in rankings and excellence indicators, and submitting them to senior management to support decision-making.
  8. Enhancing institutional integration with academic and administrative units (such as scientific research, international relations, admission and registration, and human resources) to ensure the achievement of rankings and excellence objectives in an integrated manner.
